A video cropper for the frame you need next

Cropping changes what is visible; resizing changes how many pixels the output uses. Use the video cropper’s controls to prepare a square, vertical or landscape version of your video. The frame overlay shows which part of the original you are selecting.

Choose an aspect ratio

In the video cropper, pick a ratio that suits the destination layout, then move the crop horizontally or vertically to keep the subject in view. Watch for text, faces and objects near the edges before you export.

Set the output dimensions

Enter the width and height in pixels. The video cropper accepts even-numbered dimensions from 2 to 3840 pixels. Enlarging a low-resolution source makes a larger frame but does not create new detail.

Choose fill or fit

Use Cover to fill the output frame, which can crop additional edges when ratios differ. Use Contain to keep the selected picture inside the output dimensions, with space around it when needed.

Video cropper controls for framing and size

Reframe with an aspect ratio

Choose a square, vertical or landscape crop. Use the horizontal and vertical controls to position the selection around your subject.

Enter the final width and height

Set even-numbered dimensions between 2 and 3840 pixels. The output size is separate from the crop ratio.

Choose Cover or Contain

Cover fills the output frame and may crop more edges. Contain preserves the selected picture with padding when the ratios differ.

How to use the video cropper

Select the picture area, position it and define the exported frame.

Use a video cropper to adapt the composition to its destination, with a fixed frame you position yourself.

Prepare a vertical version

Reframe landscape footage for a tall layout. Position the crop carefully and check whether your subject moves outside it later.

Focus on a slide or app window

Select the relevant picture area in a screen recording. Keep enough resolution for interface labels, equations or presentation text.

Fit a video into a page layout

Enter the dimensions for a square card or wide banner. Decide whether filling the area or preserving the selected picture is more useful.
